At The R.L. White Foundation,
Our Mission Is Simple:
The Randolph L. White Foundation exists to strengthen the bonds between Black and Jewish communities by honoring our shared history, embracing our differences, and working together. Our mission is to cultivate an enduring partnership that thrives on education, celebrates cultural richness, and mobilizes our collective strengths to confront problems wherever they emerge.
Strategies for Fulfilling Our Mission
Educational Programs
We will develop and promote educational initiatives that explore the intersections and unique aspects of Black and Jewish histories. This includes joint seminars, public lectures, curricular resources for schools, and interfaith and intercultural workshops that address racism, antisemitism, and the power of allyship.
Community Engagement
We encourage community-led events—such as cultural festivals, storytelling forums, service projects, and shared celebrations of significant holidays—that foster direct connections and friendships across lines of difference.
Advocacy and Policy
Our mission calls for coordinated advocacy on issues plaguing our communities—violence, discrimination, and hatred. By pooling our voices and resources, we can better influence policy at local, national, and international levels.
Youth Empowerment
We are committed to nurturing the next generation of Black and Jewish leaders by providing mentorship, leadership development opportunities, and spaces for youth-led dialogue and activism.
Addressing Difficult Conversations
We do not shy away from challenging topics, including moments of tension and disagreement. Instead, we engage with openness and humility, striving to understand differing perspectives and to resolve conflicts.
Commitment to Accountability
We pledge to measure our progress with transparency and humility, regularly reviewing our initiatives and seeking guidance from a diversity of community members. We understand that trust must be continuously earned and that our mission requires vigilance, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to our principles.
Vision for the Future
Our vision is of a world where Black and Jewish communities, standing together in friendship and solidarity, are catalysts for change. We imagine neighborhoods where every voice is respected, every story is honored, and dignity is a lived reality.
Let this mission statement serve as both a promise and a call to action. Together, we can build bridges over divides, confront hatred and discrimination that affect us all, and nurture the seeds of hope for generations to come.
For Today, For Tomorrow,
For Generations to Come.
Join us in strengthening the bond between Black and Jewish communities. For today, for tomorrow, for generations to come.
